04/29/2026 We are a non-traditional program supporting students from neighborhood schools in LPS, grades 6 through 12. We use Trauma-Informed Practices and embed Restorative Practices in our work with students. Creativity, innovation and relationships are critical elements of our school. All staff members are trained in ONWARD, our social emotional skill-building curriculum, which is the first class students complete upon enrolling in our school. Our philosophy is aligned with Dr. Bruce Perry's trauma work and the belief that "students do well if they can" (S. Ablon and R. Greene). If the student is not doing well, adults are expected to identify skill gap(s) and create opportunities and experiences for the student to build the necessary skills to be successful. Responsibilities of these positions include supervision and evaluation of staff, problem-solving with students, who are struggling with discipline or attendance concerns, program management and leadership, participation in MTSS process and student case management, coordinating and leading our weekly adventure education program, supervising quarterly family partnership events, managing middle school athletic event coverage, and helping to create new opportunities for our students to build skills and succeed. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive background in instruction, instructional leadership, strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, strong conflict management and de-escalation skills, collaborative decision making, large and small group facilitation skills, and relationship building skills with students, staff, and parent community. Candidates should have solid computer and technology skills, knowledge of PLC's, a belief that all students can achieve at high levels, pursue professional development, a commitment to work collaboratively with team members, and hold the strong belief to "flip the educational script" for our students and families.
Education/Licensure:
Master's degree required. Hold or be qualified to hold a Colorado principal or administrative license.
Experience :
Minimum of five years' experience in teaching and/or school administration Dean or Assistant Principal Experience preferred but not required Experience working in an alternative setting preferred but not required
Other :
Commitment to the education of pupils as a primary responsibility of the District. Thorough knowledge of both middle and high school curriculum and methodology. Effective communication skills with individuals and groups. Ability to work closely and effectively with staff members, classified personnel, and community members. Strong commitment to alternative learners and alternative education.
Salary Range:
minimum $95,505 - midpoint $116,737 This position is a 214 day calendar.
