MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
  • Must possess a Colorado Principal License with evaluator endorsement or obtain one prior to starting work
  • Candidates with endorsements in CLDE, Bilingual Ed, Foreign Language, and/or sheltered content or other English Language instructional training desired
  • Must possess secondary teaching experience (Three years desired)
  • Bilingual desired
  • Must provide own transportation to and from primary work site and to meetings throughout the District and Metro area
  • Must possess current CPR/First Aid certification or obtain prior to starting work
  • Must pass a pre-placement district physical
  • Three years Middle and/or High School Experience desired
  • Master Schedule Experience
  • Ability to utilize district databases
  • Knowledge of second language acquisition theory
  • CMAS experience or ability
  • Experience with career academies, post-secondary options, and/or career technical education programs desired
  • Knowledge of Competency-Based Education Systems and Instructional designs
  • Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
:
  • Must be able to utilize interpersonal skills to deal effectively with high school level students, parents and community
  • Must possess the necessary knowledge base for shared decision making and issues management
  • Leads, models, and demonstrates effective instructional leadership on a continuous basis
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge/background of high school philosophy, curriculum and instruction, and demonstrate an understanding of personalized, competency-based instruction
  • Must be able to develop strong relationships with staff, students, parents and community members
  • Must successfully utilize strong interpersonal skills with stakeholders during conflict resolution
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Must possess knowledge of clinical supervision and skills in instructional evaluation and conferencing
  • Demonstrate skills in instructional leadership, including leading, coordinating, and/or delivering training on research-based instructional practices within the Westminster Instructional Model. Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the following areas:
  • Building a Master Schedule
  • Managing schedule changes
  • Creating and maintaining a safe, supportive and collaborative culture
  • Ensuring effective teaching in every classroom
  • Hiring and development of a high-quality staff
  • Providing and implementing a guaranteed and viable curriculum, per board policy
  • Implementing standards referenced reporting (Empower Learning)
  • Planning for the allocation of resources: time, budget and human resources
  • Providing observational feedback and quality evaluation for teachers and support staff
  • Managing building usage
  • Creating and delivering professional learning to staff
  • Monitoring school and student performance to gauge effectiveness of programming, initiating improvement efforts, and recognizing successes of students and staff
  • Managing all local and state testing, including CMAS, PSAT and SAT
  • Forecasting, planning, and development of a long-range Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) for the growth and improvement of the school
