President, Consortium of Catholic Elementary Schools Position Purpose:
The principal works collaboratively with the pastor, president of the consortium, faculty, staff and school community to develop the Catholic identity of the school and its students. The principal serves as the spiritual, educational and administrative leader, ensuring the school fulfills its mission while supporting students, staff, and the broader school community.
Responsibilities:
Foster teachings of the Roman Catholic Church as evidenced by the school's mission, academic programs, operational style, shared prayer and worship, parish outreach and environment. Implement and administer Archdiocesan and school policies. Foster growth of the development program with components of an annual fund, capital campaign, deferred giving and alumni relations. Coordinate public relations, marketing, and student recruitment programs. Manage the operational aspects of the school, including annual budget development and implementation. Meet regularly with the school council and participate in the recruitment of the school council members. Implement the formal long-range planning processes toward the goal of ongoing school improvements in the areas of curriculum, staffing, facilities, and advancement. Responsible for hiring all teaching and support staff. Implement and oversee the effectiveness of the school's mission. Articulate the elementary school philosophy and mission to parents, parishes, alumni, ant the local community. Direct the implementation of the academic and spiritual mission of the Catholic elementary school in its daily operation, activities, and programs. Serve as the instructional leader of the school, fostering excellence in teaching and learning across all curricular and co-curricular programs and activities. Promote high quality religious instruction and faith formation experiences for students. Ensure the review of and update curriculum and textbooks on a regular basis. Guide the implementation of appropriate means of student assessment. Implement effective practices of faculty/staff orientation and professional growth, as well as personnel supervision and evaluation in accord with contractual and Archdiocesan policies. Conduct monthly faculty meetings and maintain and annually update the faculty manual. Oversee the general maintenance of the building and facilities. Maintain school personnel records and records relating to legal or insurance matters. Disseminate school news to parents through regular publications and meetings and serve as the school representative to the Home School Association (HSA) and its activities. Oversee the athletic and co-curricular programs, ensuring appropriate supervision and implementation of the school's principles and values throughout these programs.
