In this vital role, you will provide direct services to students beginning with the student recruitment and selection process and continuing through the implementation of college readiness programming. Your proactive approach will foster an inclusive environment, ensuring students receive the guidance and resources they need to thrive academically and personally. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in higher education settings. Responsibilities Recruit and select students to participate in the Take Stock in Children program. Recruit, train, and match volunteer mentors to students along with the Mentor Coordinator. Develop and offer workshops for students on a variety of college readiness topics including the FAFSA and financial aid process, ACT/SAT preparation, college applications, etc. Create workshops that offer staff and volunteer mentors key strategies and approaches that build college readiness in students. Collaborate with College Readiness Coaches and Mentor Coordinators to plan program activities aligned with the Take Stock model and grant requirements. Communicate with schools and districts to ensure consistent service delivery. Document and report on key performance indicators, including student data, volunteer mentor participation, and college and career readiness. Other duties as assigned by the President & CEO.

Core Qualifications:

Postsecondary degree required. Passion for helping break the cycle of poverty through higher education. Ability to build supportive relationships with at-risk youth. Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor with students, parents and staff, both in person and over the phone. Embody a strong connection to Take Stock in Children and Foundation for Lee County Public School's mission and value along with a desire to serve and work with diverse populations, especially disadvantaged youth. Availability to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends to support special events or programming. Have access to adequate transportation to attend off-site meetings and functions on a regular basis. Strong organizational and writing skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. A self-motivated professional who thrives working both independently and as a collaborative team member. Skilled in accurate data entry, problem-solving, and the ability to analyze information to drive decision-making. Exceptional customer service skills across all platforms, including professional email correspondence, phone etiquette, and in-person interactions. A proactive learner who is motivated to take initiative while remaining receptive to feedback and direction. Bilingual proficiency is a significant plus, though not required. Work Environment:

Employees work in classroom, office and school environments and engage in occasional travel to monthly training and service activities. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit for extended periods of time. Proof of employment eligibility as required by law. Proof of any diplomas or degrees indicated as a core qualification. Registered sex offenders (or anyone required to register) or individuals convicted of a felony crime are prohibited from employment with FLCPS. Two completed reference forms.
