Job Summary School Assistant•Lunch Supervision, Dismissal/Closing Procedure, Light Cleaning The Children's House of Ormond Beach is a private Montessori-inspired school seeking a reliable, organized, and steady presence to support the afternoon flow of the school day, including lunch supervision, daily closing procedures, and assistance as needed in our after-care program. Our school blends traditional Montessori principles with contemporary best practices, creating a calm, structured environment where children are supported through predictable routines, respectful guidance, and meaningful independence. The afternoon hours are an important extension of the school day, requiring consistency, awareness, and thoughtful oversight to ensure a smooth transition from classroom learning into end-of-day care. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable managing structured routines, maintaining order in group settings, and ensuring that students are safe, engaged, and supported throughout the latter part of the school day. Schedule Monday-Friday 11:00 AM•5:00

PM Key Responsibilities:

Supervise student lunch periods, ensuring a calm, respectful, and organized environment Support and oversee daily classroom closing routines and end-of-day transitions Assist in preparing students and spaces for dismissal in alignment with school procedures Support after-care programming/staff as needed Light cleaning & organizing in shared school spaces throughout the afternoon Monitor student safety, behavior, and engagement as needed Support consistency in routines and expectations across classrooms and after-care settings Communicate effectively with teachers and staff to ensure smooth daily coordination

Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or structured group setting Strong ability to manage groups of children in a calm, consistent, and organized way Comfortable holding responsibility for routines and supervision without constant direction Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain structure during busy transition periods Strong awareness of safety, behavior, and group dynamics Team-oriented with clear communication skills Able to pass a Level 2
