Job Description

NorthStar Academies in Palm Springs, Florida is seeking a full time Testing Coordinator for Palm Beach Preparatory Charter Academy!
Job Summary:
The Testing Coordinator (TC) is responsible for the coordination, administration, and management of all school, district, state, and in-house assessments. Under the supervision of the Principal or designee, the TC provides district and site-level support in the areas of assessment, research, and evaluation of student achievement. This support includes, but is not limited to, the facilitation of grade level content-area assessment analysis presentations, ongoing classroom support with a focus on the use of both formative and summative assessments, data to improve student achievement and the use of electronic data base systems to monitor and report student achievement.  The TC will create and maintain a yearly assessment calendar, content-area testing schedules and student rosters for all testing assignments. The TC monitors the implementation and operation of the testing environment as per state and district requirements, attends all assessment and accountability training as provided by the chartering district and provides training to school staff accordingly. The TC serves as the liaison between the district assessment team, Administrators, and instructional staff. The TC gathers data and help disseminate to staff, for analysis, and staff and student data chats. The TC works alongside the instructional team to meet the needs of the school, and for the school to remain compliant by providing consultative and collaborative expert services in support of the instructional program.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Collaborates with the Principal and school's administrative team to develop, review, and evaluate all assessment procedures and practices for all formative and summative assessments including benchmark assessments in Reading and Math, and all standardized and alternate assessments; As per the company-wide MTSS Plan, ensures that in-house benchmark assessments are administered using the approved benchmark assessment program, three times per year for Reading and three times for Math Serves as the school's assigned Testing Coordinator with the chartering district and the primary liaison between the state, district and school with respect to all state and district assessments and achievement accountability functions Ensures students are administered the appropriate assessments as identified by the state assessment rosters as well as the students' individual needs and state graduation requirements Ensures that all English Language Learners are provided with the appropriate testing accommodations as outlined in their ELL Plan Provides ESE students with the appropriate testing accommodations as outlined in each student's IEP, EP or 504 Plan Maintains and updates all in-house assessment database and reports, using assigned programs to track assessment and outcomes, including student learning gains in the Reading and Math approved benchmark assessment program as well as statewide and concordant assessment scores Coordinates the development of the school's yearly assessment calendar to ensure compliance with statewide and district assessment policies and timelines With the approval of the school principal or designee, ensures that the approved yearly calendar is posted on the school's website, distributed to staff, parents and students and posted throughout the school Maintains and report all assessment and school wide data as required by the chartering school district, Director of School Leadership, and the school leader Completes all state, district and inhouse testing reporting cleanup as per the respective data clean-up directives and timelines provided by the Principal, chartering district and FLDOE Assessment and Accountability Department Collaborates with the school's administrative team, staff, students and parents, information with respect to assessment data outcomes Tracks and reports course, programs, and institutional outcome assessment activities, participation rates, progress and completions Contributes to the school's continuous School Improvement Plan by tracking and monitoring the school's academic achievement goals as outlined in the school's yearly Improvement Priority Plan Coordinates and support efforts of the school leader, and Dean of Academics as those efforts relate to outcomes and assessments Collaborates with the district and College Board to schedule alternate testing dates as it relates to SAT and ACT testing Attends all district and in-house training with respect to statewide and alternate testing Keeps abreast of all FLDOE student assessment policies, compliance and curriculum and accreditation standards as they apply to assessment outcomes and reporting requirements. Assists in data collection related to outcome assessment for the School Improvement Rating which includes the number of students tested, learning gains in Reading and learning gains in Math. Assists administrators with special projects regarding outcome assessment Facilitates the training of all Testing Examiners and Proctors Creates assessment proctoring scheduled and student rosters for testing assignments; Issues memorandums and other correspondence related to assigned duties; Analyzes data to determine trends of the individual students and subsequently academic target areas; Directs the dissemination of assessment results to school staff and stakeholder groups; Effectively utilizes technology to organize, analyze and disseminate assessment results Maintains the highest standards of professional ethics related to test security and test protocols; Coordinates and ensures the fidelity of the assessment process and procedures related to the security, storage, dissemination, administering of all assessments, and the return and shipment of all assessment materials; Monitors the implementation of sound testing practices; Investigates, documents and reports to the Principal and Vice President of School Operations any breach of sound testing practice/violations of test security; Provides technical assistance to staff as requested or required; provide feedback to School Leaders and support staff related to school-based testing procedures; Ensures the data is accurate prior to disseminating reports.
Background:
Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred Experience teaching or participating in an e-learning/online learning course preferred Strong written and verbal skills demonstrated by a writing sample Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook Proficiency with multimedia communication tools, such as discussion boards, web logs, email, instant messaging and online meeting tools Work with alternative education programs preferred High degree of flexibility Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment Benefits and other
