Position Vacancy Announcement Florida A&M University's Undergraduate Student Success Center (Athletic Advocacy) is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Coordinator, Academic Programs vacancy. Responsibilities This position is responsible for creating a supportive, positive atmosphere for special populations of students, including student-athletes while monitoring their academic progress, identifying academic strengths and areas for improvement, and crafting a personalized holistic plan for collegiate success; In collaboration with advisors, learning specialists and other academic staff members, this position will help develop student autonomy and self-efficacy; The position will report to the Director, Academic Advocacy; and this position is responsible for assisting a caseload of special population students, such as student-athletes and others identified as needing additional support for academic success. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or a master's degree in appropriate area of specialization. Recommended Competencies Excellent time management skills; Ability to serve diverse populations and cultures; Ability to work flexible hours including some evening and weekend hours consistent with student needs; Ability to review and analyze student needs and recommend appropriate success strategies and referrals; Ability to engage life coaching and advising skills to assist students in matriculating to graduation; Ability to manage large amounts of information related to academic programs, college policies and procedures, and federal regulations; Excellent customer relations skills and the ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship; Ability to work independently with little supervision; and, Proficient with Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft and other software applications including CANVAS and Blackboard Analytic. Anticipated Salary Range Anticipated starting salary is $50,000 Pay Plan This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position. Conditions of Employment Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment. Additionally, if currently employed by the State, this law prohibits the promotion of such person. You may be required to provide documentation.
