PRIMARY FUNCTION
To provide leadership for the direction, supervision, and coordination of the school's administrative operations, instructional programs, and assigned personnel.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years experience in an administrative position, including successfully serving as a school building-level Administrator.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership for developing and implementing instructional programs based on the adopted curriculum. Provide leadership and encouragement to staff and students in the achievement of the basic skills essential to attaining high academic goals. Provide for the maintenance of sound discipline consistent with establishing a positive school environment and achieving the maximum time on task for students and staff. Provide effective guidance and counseling services for all students. Establish, encourage, and maintain effective communication, support, and participation with parents and the community. Provide for the equitable direction, supervision, and evaluation of assigned certified and classified personnel. Provide leadership for the continuing professional development of the certified staff. Provide for the effective management and maintenance of the school plant consistent with available resources. Provide leadership to the school food service operations. Maximize available auxiliary resources to achieve the school's instructional goals. Ensure the timely and efficient implementation and application of laws, policies, and procedures governing the operations of the school. Provide for the prompt and accurate maintenance of all records and submission of all reports. Participate in the state evaluation program and related professional development activities. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.
SPECIFIC DUTIES

Establish priorities, set realistic goals, and follow projects through to the conclusion. Reach high-quality decisions based upon logical conclusions derived from a thorough review of available data. Inspire enthusiasm, individual initiative, and self-confidence in employees. Be supportive and reaffirm to all children, parents, and employees. Promote professional pride and high standards of ethical conduct. Delegate authority to others, allowing latitude for efficiently accomplishing the assigned task. Be accessible to staff members, parents, students, and the community. Communicate positive, clearly defined expectations to students, staff, parents, and community. Allocate resources consistent with established priorities and identified needs. Produce clear and concise oral and written communications. Demonstrate the highest personal commitment to assigned responsibilities, providing leadership by personal example.
Education/Certification:
State of Georgia Tier I Educational Leadership Certificate Required (Tier II preferred) or a Standard Professional Certificate in Educational Leadership that meets the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) reciprocity requirements.
Experience:
Successful teaching and administrative leadership experience.
Skills Required:
Educational background and practical knowledge of the most effective practices in curriculum, instructional management, planning, child development, and general school administration. Proficiency is required in oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, and competency in organizing, planning, and evaluating.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years experience in an administrative position, including successfully serving as a school building-level Administrator.
