Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, HiSET, or G.E.D
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Excellent customer service skills. Effective written and oral communication. Attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Maintain confidentiality. Attend work on a prompt and regular basis. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
JOB SUMMARY
The Counseling Clerk performs clerical functions for the counseling center. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Answer and screen phone calls for the counselors. Schedule appointments. Schedule college recruiter visits and coordinate Upward Bound and Talent Search visits. Assist students with scheduling and course code sheets. Record student program changes. Prepare reports such as student grade reports, cumulative reports, and senior destination. Receive payments for PSAT registration. Assist students with college teaching, financial aid, and general college information. Assist registrar with entering grades in the Student Information System (SIS). Other duties, as assigned.
