•Supervise and participate in all aspects of the Adventuretime preschool and school age program involving activity planning, scheduling, and assistant team leader and associate staff supervision and teacher/parent communication. •(Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Education, Certification/Licensure, Experience, Equipment) Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to relate well with children. Understanding and ability to meet developmental needs of school age children. Knowledge and skill in childcare / child development, including what children are capable of at different age levels. Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures. Knowledge of children's activities that will get the child to use both their skill and imagination. Ability to plan, organize and implement program activities as well as participate in those activities. Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Ability to be on time and follow through with responsibilities. Ability to serve as a positive role model for staff and children. Knowledge of and skill in managing on-site staff. Ability to anticipate problems and take preventive action. Ability to create collaborative working environment. Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, staff, teachers, and administration. Effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to interact positively with students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders. Knowledge of district policies and procedures. Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Certification/Licensure Current First Aid and CPR certification. Current Mandatory Reporter of Child Abuse certification. Current Bloodborne Pathogens certification. Current Medication Administration certification. Experience 1-2 years of childcare / child development experience. Equipment Office equipment such as computers, two-way radios, multi-line phone system, cell phone, copier, and fax machines.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Maintain accurate records. Incident reports Medication/allergy paperwork Weekly lesson plans Building schedules Monthly newsletters Monthly snack calendars Current emergency forms Field Trip receipts Planning Organize, plan and prepare activities for the children, including ordering and receiving needed materials for activities. Communicate lesson plans to assistant team leaders and associates and making sure they are implemented on daily basis. Arrange field trips. Plan and prepare healthy daily snacks for children. Develop and implement positive behavior management plans that align with building expectations. Staff Development Provide new staff orientation to assistant team leaders and associates. Conduct weekly building staff meetings. Collaborate with other building team leaders to develop lesson plans weekly. Attend weekly team leader meetings and trainings scheduled by supervisors. Assist in planning and facilitating monthly staff trainings. Communication Develop positive relationships and communicate effectively with school staff, custodians, food service staff, teachers, principals, school secretaries, guidance counselors, and supervisors. Greet parents and students when they arrive and leave. Communicate positive and negative behaviors with parents on daily basis. Provide parents with incident reports, newsletters, program changes or updates, upcoming events, and office contact information. Maintain confidentiality. Site Safety Maintain clean, sanitary, orderly, and safe environment. Utilize space effectively to meet the needs of children. Maintain appropriate child/staff ratios at all times. Follow Food Safety/Sanitation guidelines when preparing and distributing snacks. Communicate individual student health (i.e. allergies, medications, asthma, etc.) plans to all staff. Create a structured and organized environment for the children. Follow established policies and procedures for the Adventuretime program. Maintain a reliable attendance record. Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISION OF OTHERS
•Adventuretime Associates VolunteersPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Repetitious bending, lifting, and hand movement. Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking. Drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free while working. Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids. Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.WORKING CONDITIONS
•Majority of work is performed in an office or school setting. Occasional meetings outside the school day. Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
