Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is seeking qualified applicants for the Principal position at Lincoln Trail Elementary. This position is responsible for providing instructional leadership and managing the daily operations of the school. The successful candidate will support student achievement, foster a positive school climate, and build strong relationships with students, staff, and families. Provide instructional leadership to support student learning and school improvement. Supervise and evaluate staff. Maintain a safe and positive learning environment. Use data to guide instructional decisions. Support the implementation of curriculum aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards. Manage building operations, including scheduling and student discipline. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families. Ensure compliance with district policies and state requirements. Lead and monitor implementation of the District strategic plan for Lincoln Trail Elementary, ensuring alignment to school improvement priorities, PLC goals, and the effective use of resources, systems, and practices to improve student outcomesQualifications:
Hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Principal endorsement. Previous teaching and/or administrative experience, preferably at the elementary level. Commitment to fostering a positive school culture and climate grounded in strong relationships with students, staff, and families Demonstrate a compassionate approach and commitment to supporting children and families. Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to remain calm, responsive, fair, and consistent. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a high-performing administrative team to support district-wide coherenceLeadership Experience and Skills:
Ability to establish a clear vision and direction for the school. Demonstrate visibility, accessibility, and active involvement within the school and community. Possess sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and practical decision-making. Ability to motivate staff, inspire trust, and support professional growth.Knowledge and Experience Preferred:
Deep understanding of the Science of Reading, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension Knowledge of elementary curriculum and instructional practices, including small-group instruction, differentiation, and evidence-based teaching practices Experience implementing MTSS, differentiation of instruction, and data-driven practices Understanding of behavioral interventions and supports (e.g., PBIS, restorative practices) Knowledge of legal requirements related to special education and student services Experience supporting multilingual learners and language development within content instruction Experience integrating instructional technology to enhance teaching and learningSalary and Benefits:
$95,000 to $120,000 based on experience, plus TRS and a comprehensive benefits package.Application Procedure:
