Student Organizations and Activities Work Location Lexington, KY Salary Range $12.00 / hour Type of Position Student Position Time Status Part-Time Required Education Must be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at UK Required Related Experience n/a Required License/Registration/Certification n/a Physical Requirements Sitting for long periods of time Shift 5 hours per week - up to 10-12 hours available • Hours depend on the number of events and presentations Involvement Advisors sign up for weekly Occasional weekend and evening hours will be required Job Summary Join the Office of Student Organizations and Activities as an Involvement Advisor! We are seeking students who are passionate about the University of Kentucky and have a desire to help other students get involved on campus. Involvement Advisors help students get involved, by meeting with them 1:1 to help them connect to student organizations and events on campus. Involvement Advisors also help raise awareness about why getting involved makes a difference, through events, tabling, and presentations. Position Duties Meet 1 on 1 with interested students and facilitate Involvement Advising meetings (via email, phone, Zoom, and in-person) Represent the Office of Student Organizations and Activities in presentations and tabling opportunities including but not limited to: Merit Weekend, Big Blue Nation Orientation, Admitted Student Days, UK 101 and K Week Host involvement programming, including but not limited to: walk-in advising, getting involved workshops, BBNvolved training, additional student organization support and training Attend Student Organizations & Activities events to engage with students and help them get involved Serve as a representative for the Center for Student Involvement, welcoming visitors in and helping answer any questions Attend monthly team meetings and biweekly 1:1 meetings with your supervisor Assist in campus-wide involvement initiatives, such as call campaigns or other projects • Assist in additional Involvement Advising initiatives, and other duties as assigned This position is also Federal Work-Study eligible, if you qualify Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Must be a full-time undergraduate UK student Must be able to interact respectfully with students and any guests of the university Must be able to represent the Office of Student Organizations and Activities in a professional manner Should passionately and genuinely be able to communicate why involvement is important and discuss involvement experiences at UK.
