1. Bachelor's Degree. 2. Should have successful experience for four or more years in area of assignment. 3. Should have coaching experience in one or more interscholastic sports. 4. Such additional qualifications as the superintendent and/or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOALS
To provide each enrolled student an opportunity to participate in extracurricular athletic activity that will foster physical skills, a sense of worth and competence, a knowledge and understanding of the pleasures of sport, and the principles of fair play.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare a master budget and supervise equipment inventories. Administers the athletic insurance program and assumes responsibility for processing reports and claims. Requisitions program supplies and equipment. Supervises all ticket sales and fund-raising events of the athletic program and assumes responsibility for proper handling of funds. Ensures all coaches are trained on Redbook Rules and assists in enforcing these rules. Secure and file the paperwork for equipment lease requests involving the athletic department. Prepare a master sports calendar that includes conference and non-conference games/events. Coordinate gym, building and athletic field use with the high school office, middle school office, and/or district office and maintain a building use calendar. Coordinate gym use for practices and games and give final clearance for the use of either the gym or the athletic field. Work with coaching staff and transportation supervisor to schedule all athletic departure times and provide bus supervision with trip sheets. Take care of travel arrangements and overnight accommodations for players or athletic teams (and coaches) competing in postseason competition. Seek and recommend suitable competition for all non-conference events/games. Hire all officials for middle school and high school contests. Confirm official's contracts and all non-conference contest contracts. Secure game workers for athletic contests, chain crews, announcers, clock operators, score keepers, line judges, etc. and submit the list of contracted workers for that contest to the event supervisor prior to the event. Submit athletic expense request sheets for payment of officials and other workers to bookkeeper. Coordinate the collection of rosters for program information as needed. Act as a resource person and coordinator for all coaches. Assist in supervision at home athletic contests. Assist in the selection of coaches for the athletic program. Evaluate all athletic programs on an annual basis. Make recommendations for improvement to the building principal and district administrator. Complete an evaluation form and hold a conference with all coaches. Mediate the resolution of problems, issues, and concerns that may arise between coaches and athletic programs. Provide a channel through which students and the community may express their concerns about an athletic program. Provide for in-service of coaching staff as needed. Disseminate KHSAA materials and enforce KHSAA rules and regulations, including player eligibility. Collect, file, and notify athletes and coaches regarding student eligibility as it pertains to the KHSAA physical forms and athletic code of conduct. Collect and maintain on file a properly completed physical forms for every student participating in athletics. Ensure district adherence to all KHSAA and district policies, administrative rules, procedures, and codes relating to and participation in athletics. Assist in the ordering of Post season awards for each program. Attend required athletic conference meetings. Fosters good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the athletic program. Serves as district's primary liaison with athletic booster clubs. Ensures, in cooperation with athletic coaches, that all fields and facilities are properly maintained. Plans and supervises an annual recognition program for school athletics. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the principal or the superintendent.

Salary and work year to be established by the superintendent.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
