The Louisiana State Penitentiary is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Principal to oversee educational programs within the institution. This position is responsible for the administration, supervision, and coordination of academic and vocational education programs for the offender population, as well as supervision of educational staff and program compliance with state and departmental policies. The Principal will provide leadership in curriculum development, student educational progress, testing programs, and overall school operations within the facility. The position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a correctional environment while maintaining educational standards and program integrity. This is an opportunity to serve in a leadership role that supports education, rehabilitation, and workforce development initiatives within one of Louisiana's largest correctional institutions. This position is an Unclassified Position. Supervise teaching staff Supervise Educational Contract employee and submit time sheets Responsible for the entire education program including literacy, ABE, PreHiSET, HiSET, ASSET Prep, Job Life Skills, Building Technology, Welding, Automotive, Small engine, Serve Safe, and Associate Degree Program. IC3 and Python. Works with Ashand University Site Director to aid with college class and document verification. Oversee computerized records; in-house, Cajun Education, Cajun REAP, SIS and HiSET. Work with adult male inmates of all custody levels - minimum, medium, maximum (death row) and protective custody. Supervise
