JOB GOAL
Facilitate the services at the building level, maintain appropriate confidentiality in accordance with state and federal regulations.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and facilitate all Team meetings including initial and reevaluation eligibility determinations and annual reviews with an emphasis on a tiered approach to intervention. Manage, with principals and Director of Student Services, the educational programs for students with disabilities, including ensuring services are provided in accordance with the IEP. Ensure compliance in accordance with IDEA and MA State Regulations in regards to the education of students with disabilities at assigned schools. Coordinate and facilitate collaborative relationships with school staff and parents whose child is involved in the above processes. Work with other special education facilitators and school staff to provide an orderly transition between schools for students with disabilities. Coordinate and facilitate all individual and grade level transitions, Coordinate and facilitate all necessary follow-up among Team members, including curriculum and testing accommodations. Assist administrators in the scheduling of students with disabilities so that schedules meet the requirements of the students' IEPs and personnel are allotted appropriately. Coordinate and facilitate communication among Team members. Ensure that IEP progress reports on goals and objectives are provided to parents/guardians as required. Coordinate and facilitate all paperwork requirements for the above processes. Complete educational evaluations for students referred for special education evaluations as appropriate. Coordinate the continuation of special services for transferring students with disabilities. Compile and review comprehensive evaluation data required to determine the appropriate eligibility of individual exceptional students in advance of team meetings. Work with Director of Student Services to identify emerging special education program needs and district trends. Perform other duties as assigned.
