SUBJECT:
HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL 2026
•PROGRAM
SUPERVISORS
BPS educators are needed to supervise the rising 9th and high school summer school programs, which will be available to rising 9th grade and high school students. Positions are contingent upon funding and adequate student enrollment. Both programs will run from July 1st through July 31st, with the exception of July 4th. The programs are as follows: 2 Supervisors working collaboratively to oversee 1.Rising 9th High School Prep 7:30 am•12:30 pm 2.Summer School (grades 9-12) 7:00 am•12:30 pm There will be a required paid training session on a date to be determined prior to the start of the program. The supervisors will be responsible for collecting attendance, for program scheduling, for submitting payroll, and other tasks. Twenty (20) hours of program prep/comp will be provided.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.A minimum of 5 years of teaching/work experience in the BPS system 2.Strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask 3.Excellent written and verbal communication skills 4.Working knowledge of MS Word & Excel, as well as a comfort level using online software and survey tools 5.Ability to successfully collaborate with school leadership, parents, and community partners 6.Willingness to be responsible for the development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the program 7.Knowledge of school discipline policies and procedures preferred 8.Prior program supervisory experience preferred 9.Training and experience in project-based learning strongly preferred 10.Must commit to work the entire program and attend training
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Collaborate with district leadership to create programs that will support academic achievement as well as the social and emotional well being of our students. 2.Assist in the recruitment of students and staff 3.Plan/hold one 30-minute meeting per week as needed 4.Collect data for program evaluation and other information as required by the MA DESE 5.Supervise program operations 6.Determine program supply needs, maintain a supply inventory, and return non-consumables at the end of the program 7.Other duties as directed by the Assistant Superintendent, 6-12.
