Serving as a team member in the implementation and maintenance of a positive, safe, inclusive, and supportive school culture, the Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher is instrumental in implementing a culture of physical well-being and exercise while also developing new avenues for students to pursue athletic interests. Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher:
You are committed to cultivating a culture of exercise, athletic pursuits and healthy body image through all grades K-8 You have at least two years of teaching experience working with children in an Elementary and/or Middle School Physical Education setting and have a bachelor's degree You believe that caring about students but also having high expectations for them is paramount to student achievement You are committed to cultivating the social emotional wellbeing of all our students through athletics and physical education You will thrive in a community where there is open, honest communication, accountability, effort, respect, joy and a genuine love of God Role and Responsibilities of the
Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher:
Works closely with the Principal, Assistant Principal and Dean of Students to establish a positive and joyful culture of mutual respect and fun through physical education and athletic offerings Plans activities that are fun and engaging but also challenge students to improve their health and fitness Tracks and monitors student performance and enters physical education grades on progress reports and report cards in a timely and accurate manner Evaluates lessons for student interest, participation and works to ensure that all students participate in physical education classes Helps grow the athletic offerings at Lawrence Catholic Academy by collaborating with the other Merrimack Valley Catholic Schools to bring forth more activities including volleyball, flag football, soccer and basketball Available and present in the Tom and Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium during Saturday basketball games in the winter season; able to be present during other athletic contests held at Lawrence Catholic Academy as assigned Creates inclusive environments that honor and support a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives Models the core values of the school: Respect, Integrity, Safety, Empathy Is highly present and visible during school hours to ensure a positive school climate and environment Assists the Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, School Counselors, Nurse and others to ensure students have a safe, welcoming and fun environment to learn about exercise, teamwork and other social emotional skills through Physical Education Attends and participates in staff and other school activities and meetings as appropriate
