Aug 26, 2026 Job Description Leominster High School Starting 2026-2027 School Year Department Heads for the following departments: ELL English Fine Arts Guidance Mathematics Science Social Studies Special Education World Languages
Responsibilities:
Promotes the school and the LHS and CTEi principals' vision for improving instruction and student achievement within the Culture of Achievement. Participate in interviews for teacher candidates. Attend part of new teacher orientation and actively participate in acclimation and onboarding of new staff. Meets regularly with department members to conduct or lead department activities such as common planning, curriculum review, budget preparation, data analysis, and collaboration. Attends Instructional Leadership Team Meetings; assists with the development and implementation of school-wide and department-specific initiatives. Shares feedback on curriculum, instructional, assessment, and student support practices with department members through collaborative professional development activities such as PLCs and Learning Walks. Submits the department budget to the principal Annually reviews with the department and updates the Program of Studies. Recommends course assignments to the principal. Maintains an inventory of department resources.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience Masters degree preferred Hold current DESE licensure Record of student success Professional Teacher Status
