Superintendent:

• Lead and manage daily stevedoring and terminal operations, including cargo handling, vessel loading/unloading, bulk, and equipment utilization.
• Assign, coordinate, and oversee labor and personnel to maintain a safe, efficient, and positive working environment.
• Ensure terminal areas and working spaces are orderly, well-maintained, and operationally ready.
• Prepare and submit operational documentation, logs, and reports accurately and on time.
• Plan and organize vessel and terminal activities to maximize productivity, minimize delays, and ensure seamless cargo flow.
• Clearly communicate standard operating procedures and ensure consistent compliance across the workforce.
• Collaborate with the Customer Service and Logistics teams to coordinate vessel schedules, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate and on-time service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental standards and lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training initiatives.

Qualifications To succeed as a Superintendent you must have: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or technical training in operations, logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in cargo handling, stevedoring, terminal operations, maritime operations, or a related industrial environment. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). Demonstrated leadership ability with a strong commitment to safety, accountability, and leading by example. Ability to effectively manage priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, constantly changing operational environment. Knowledge of stevedoring operations, cargo handling procedures, warehouse activities, and the safe operation of related equipment; prior supervisory experience preferred. Experience supporting health and safety initiatives, with knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build teamwork, collaboration, and positive working relationships. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to complete operational documentation and reports. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on vessel schedules and operational needs. Why Logistec?
