Job Description

Noble Middle & High School is looking for a dynamic school administrator to work predominantly with 7th and 8th grade students and staff within the larger 7th-12th grade building. An ability to collaborate and work as part of a team are essential qualities for the candidate who will be selected for this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Building administration certification - assistant principal or equivalentThree years or more of high school or middle school administrative experience preferredTeaching experience of at least 4 yearsMasters Degree in education or related fieldSuccessful experience working in a leadership roleDemonstrated ability to work with middle and / or high school school students and their parentsKnowledge of the philosophical, pedagogical, and programmatic aspects of middle and / or high school level educationExcellent communication and collaboration skills
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Support general student management in the areas of behavior, attendance, supervision, and overall student well-being. Work collaboratively with counselors, teachers, and support staff to address student concerns and promote a positive school climate.

Serve as an active member of the building administrative team, working collaboratively with the principal and other assistant principals to coordinate school operations, support staff, and ensure consistency in expectations, policies, and decision-making across the middle and high school.

Supervise and evaluate non-teaching personnel as assigned, providing feedback and support to ensure effective performance and alignment with school goals.

Supervise and evaluate teaching personnel as assigned, including conducting classroom observations, providing instructional feedback, and supporting professional growth in alignment with district evaluation systems.

Work with grade-level teams, content-area teams, and department leaders to support effective instruction, student engagement, and implementation of curriculum and school initiatives.

Assist the principal with school-wide initiatives and operations by attending and participating in meetings with teacher teams, faculty, administrators, district personnel, and the school board as assigned.

Assist the principal in monitoring and supporting all school-sponsored activities, including extracurricular events, athletics, and school functions.

Serve as a member of the Noble Middle and High School Leadership Team, contributing to school improvement planning, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making.

Serve, as needed, as the administrative representative at Special Education or Section 504 meetings for students, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and supporting collaborative problem-solving with families and staff.

Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents/guardians, and staff regarding student progress, behavior, school expectations, and other matters as required.

Support curriculum development and instructional improvement efforts through collaboration with teachers and instructional leaders, participation in professional learning initiatives, and supervision of instructional practices.

Maintain a visible and active presence in classrooms, hallways, common areas, and at school events to support a safe, orderly, and positive school environment.

Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or superintendent in support of the effective operation of the school.

Noble Middle &High School is located in North Berwick, Maine and serves the communities of Berwick, North Berwick, and Lebanon. Noble is a 7-12 school with 1,275 students housed in two heterogeneously grouped academies made up of grade-level teams and houses. Our school features student-centered learning, multiple pathways to success, one-to-one technology, a teacher leadership team, a proficiency-based system of teaching and learning, performance-based assessments, student-led conferences, and a final student capstone presentation.
