POSITION SUMMARY
RSU 57 seeks a dynamic and highly motivated educational leader to serve as the Principal of Massabesic High School. This critical role requires a visionary prepared to enact comprehensive, transformational change in alignment with the mission of preparing students for success in an ever-changing world and the District's Strategic Plan. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving intensive instructional improvement efforts and leading a significant culture shift among students and faculty to substantially increase opportunities and improve outcomes for all students.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Vision:
Develop, communicate, and implement a clear, compelling vision for the school that centers on high expectations and continuous improvement. Secure the buy-in and active participation of faculty, staff, students, and the community to support significant cultural and instructional shifts.
Instructional Focus:
Lead and manage comprehensive instructional reform efforts focused on improving curriculum, instruction, and assessment; enhancing teaching methodologies; and integrating research-based practices to ensure high-quality learning experiences for every student.
Climate and Culture:
Actively foster a positive culture of high-expectations among both students and faculty. Implement systems that promote mutual respect, collaboration, accountability, and a collective responsibility for student success and well-being.
Student Opportunity:
Identify, develop, implement, and promote successful academic and extracurricular programs that expand pathways and opportunities for students, preparing them for success in college, career, and community life.
Faculty Development and Supervision:
Oversee a comprehensive professional development system designed to build the instructional capacity of all faculty members to effectively implement and sustain significant reforms. Conduct regular evaluations focused on instructional effectiveness and growth.
Management and Operations:
Direct the overall operation of Massabesic High School, including fiscal management, facility maintenance, student discipline, and adherence to RSU 57 policies and state regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or a related field. Maine Principal certification (040) or certifiable. Minimum of three years of successful administrative experience; preferably at the high school level. Demonstrated record of leadership in initiating and sustaining significant, positive school-wide transformational change. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills required to lead a diverse team and engage the community.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary, work year and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board's policy on evaluation.
