The primary function of this position is to assist the principal in administering, organizing, and supervising students, staff, and programs.QUALIFICATIONS
Five years of successful secondary teaching experience (preferably at the high school level). A Master's Degree which includes coursework toward a Master's Degree in Administration. Administrator's Certification (preferred)MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as an educational and instructional leader for Center Line High School to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe student centered learning environment that meets and exceeds the subject matter standards, following the approved curricula and directives of the district. Plan, prepare, and implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Assist in maintaining effective and efficient record keeping procedures. Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement. Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community members. Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment for students by participating in activities which include, but are not limited to, meetings, staff development, communities of practice, and various committees. Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others. Recognize and respond to individual differences in students and staff. Work cooperatively with parents, colleagues, teaching staff, support staff and supervisors. Display a genuine love of students (enthusiasm). Assist in the implementation of full inclusion techniques for special education students. Assist the principal in handling routine operational details, supervising the cafeteria, preparing for special activities or meetings, supervising driving and parking regulations and ensuring the health, safety, and general welfare of the students and staff. Assist in the monitoring of student behavior by implementing the Code of Conduct and Student Handbook. Assist in the supervision of extracurricular and athletic activities. Attend and participate in IEPC meetings when requested. Develop and maintain good school/community relationships. Participate in the supervision and evaluation of the high school staff. Write, speak and present well. Develop critical thinking skills with students and staff Relate to parents and other community members, individual and corporate, in a positive and helpful fashion. Know and utilize technology in the teaching and learning process.Implement conflict-resolution strategies for both adults and students. Utilize data to improve student instruction.
