  • 116,493 Position Details Kearsley Community Schools is seeking a highly motivated administrative candidate to serve as the Armstrong Middle School Assistant Principal. The position will begin on July 1, 2026. The Kearsley Board of Education will offer the successful candidate an annual salary range of $99,071
  • 116,493 , commensurate with their education, skill level, and prior experience.

The District Kearsley Community Schools serves approximately 2,800 students across four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
Highlights include:
Award-winning early childhood program at the Pumpkin Patch Expanded dual enrollment and cutting-edge classroom technology Community Building/Restorative Practices with Ali Hearn Nationally recognized Bike Tech® and SME Prime programs at Kearsley High School The district employs approximately 175 certified educators, most of whom hold advanced degrees. Voters recently approved a $21,680,000 bond to support new and enhanced learning environments, districtwide improvements, and safety upgrades.
Key projects include:
A new community recreation facility with a 1,500-seat competitive gym, indoor track, and training spaces Enhanced STEM and Robotics spaces and flexible classroom designs Secure, redesigned entrances for all elementary schools The Position Performance Responsibilities Assists with the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational programs. Conducts classroom observations and provides feedback to support high-quality instruction and student engagement. Supervises the work of certified and non-certified employees as assigned. Administers district policies and procedures concerning discipline and attendance utilizing restorative practices. Assures the safety and welfare of students including coordination and oversight of all safety drills and building safety initiatives Assists with planning and implementation of programs for parent groups, staff, and community agencies, and promotes positive public and school-community relations. Supervises support programs such as food services, bus loading, lunch supervision and transportation as assigned. Assists with the management and care of the school equipment and materials. Oversees and supervises all building student activities, clubs and organizations Supervises evening and extra-curricular activities. Assists with accreditation activities. Administer building and district programs for vocational and career-education preparation and placement, (1) comply with Title IX and XII, (2) provide non-traditional opportunities for students, and (3) provide quality experiences for students with special needs. May serve as lead building administrator in the absence of the principal. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Five (5) years of successful teaching experience or comparable successful experience working with students. Master's degree in administration, supervision, curriculum, or related areas. Meet (or ability to meet) the Michigan school administrator's certification requirements. Demonstrate advanced skills in computer utilization of educational materials and student information systems. Demonstrate advanced organizational and communication skills with students, parents, and staff. Minimum three years of successful experience working with children and families in diverse/multicultural settings. Must possess a positive work history. Desirable Qualifications Prior educational administration experience. Knowledge of human service agencies. Graduate credits in pupil personnel administration, testing, vocational guidance, special education or communications. Knowledge of performance assessment, curriculum development, and learning styles. Experience in management of student discipline and attendance with the ability to establish programs and procedures to improve student behavior and attendance. Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and the ability to relate to students, staff, and parents. This position reports to the Middle School Principal .
