JOB GOALS
Director of Federal Programs:
To utilize federal funding to provide supplementary educational opportunities that contribute to the educational excellence of the district's students, programs, facilities, and personnel. This person will direct, coordinate, and supervise the programmatic and financial activities for all federal grant programs within the district.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Director of Federal Programs:
Develops goals and objectives, programs and operations that are consistent with school system vision, mission, and goals, and strategic plan Assumes responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all projects Utilizes data to identify program needs Assists in development of the budget that pertains to curriculum, instruction, and evaluation of the instructional program based on results and expenditures Works with the Director of Professional Development to provide educational workshops for professional and para-professional staff members Works with school textbook coordinators to maintain accurate textbook inventory Ensures updated policies and procedures are accurate and available in the form of federal, personnel, and student handbooks Makes periodic and regular site visits to classrooms for purposes of program evaluation and needs assessment of Federal and special projects Evaluates proposed projects for their relevance to the District's plans and needs, and their eligibility for federal funding Evaluates program effectiveness and personnel effectiveness and makes appropriate recommendations Monitors and evaluates progress toward accomplishment of system goals and objectives Conducts surveys necessary to implement federal and special projects Serves as liaison between the Superintendent of Education and the State Department of Education in meeting the requirements for receiving federal funds that are available to schools Assumes final responsibility for writing and filing of proposals and applications and for evaluating all federally funded projects Prepares necessary budget instruments for securing and expending funds for project implementation of said programs within the perimeter of the approved project and applicable regulations Secures approval from the superintendent and Board of Education before submitting final proposal for federally funded programs Compiles and maintains written records and reports on all federal projects and disseminates this information, as appropriate to the schools, the state agency ay groups, and the U.S. Office of Education Attends meetings as assigned by the superintendent, principal, and state education officials pertaining to federal programs Stays abreast of changes in laws and requirements regarding federal funds available to the district Assumes responsibility and maintains an inventory of all equipment and materials purchased with federal funds Involves parents in the planning and implementation of projects Provides leadership in establishing local and district parent involvement Presents accurate, documented expenditures for payment in a timely manner Assumes responsibility for the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and placement of all Title I personnel Compiles and completes the Civil Rights report and supplies copies to the appropriate personnel Develops and implements a plan of action to comply with Title IX requirements and addresses grievances as addressed by School board policy Keeps informed of and complies with state, district, and local policies affecting schools, including daily attendance, punctuality and confidentiality Additional Duties Demonstrates a high level of personal integrity, a collaborative leadership style and high ethical standards Attends professional growth activities to improve job knowledge and performance Adheres to all NBCSD policies and procedures as well as comply with the Mississippi Educator Code of Ethics Performs other responsibilities/duties as designated by the Superintendent

Salary and work year established by NBCSD School Board
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
