: New Hampshire Certification or eligibility for certification as a Principal A Master's Degree in Education and/or School Administration/Leadership; Minimum of three (3) years to five (5) years of experience as an elementary teacher or related experience; Knowledge of student discipline policies, procedures, protocols, and best practices to support student behavior conducive to an effective teaching and learning environment; Ability to organize and carry out a system to manage student behavior Ability to work with and communicate effectively with elementary and pre-school age students; Ability to work with and communicate with staff; Ability to work with and communicate with parents, guardians, and community members; Ability to understand changes in early childhood education including standards-based grading,digital learning, alternative education programs, and student engagement practices; Possess strong oral and written communication skills; Demonstrated knowledge of how to support the socio-emotional needs of students; Knowledge of current rules and regulations in special education, ESOL, and other programs; Ability to work with the Principal and colleagues in a collaborative manner; Proficient in the use technology to enhance learning, monitor student behavior and attendance, and as a communications tool; Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of early childhood/elementary school education, curriculum, instruction, and assessment;PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Helps the principal establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school; Helps to plan, organize and implement all school activities, programs and learning, instruction, and assessment; Keeps the Principal and helps to keep the Superintendent of Schools informed about all school activities and programs; Helps to make recommendations concerning the school's administration, teaching, curriculum instruction, and assessment; Helps to implement the school's instructional program in accordance with school board policies and New Hampshire Department of Education laws, rules and regulations; Supports the principal in preparation of the school budget; Helps to ensure that class sizes are adequate to enhance student learning; Helps to supervise the maintenance of all required student records and reports as well as building records and reports; Helps to ensure that a program of assessment of students is in place and used to inform instructional practice;; Helps to develop and implement with Littleton School Board policies and regulations intramural and student activities that enhance educational delivery; Helps the principal to ensure effective transportation services at the building level;PERSONNEL AND STAFF
Helps principal to assign, observe and evaluate all building personnel within the school. Submits all evaluations of employees to the SAU # 84 office by March 1 st of each year; Helps to interpret and enforce district policies and administrative regulations; Makes recommendations to the principal relative to renewal of contracts and assignment of staff; Helps to interview new staff members and makes recommendations to the Principal for new staff employment; Helps to organize and provide staff meetings and other forums or professional learning community meetings to ensure desirable and necessary communications; Helps to coordinate the work of other teaching or non-teaching specialists or consultants assigned to the building; Helps to administer personnel practices within Littleton School District policy, rules, and regulations as well as the negotiated agreements for professionals and support staff; Helps to maintain personnel records not maintained at the SAU #84 office; Helps to ensure that substitutes are available to cover classrooms and instructional programs due to absence, contractual leave or professional leave; Helps the principal develop and deliver professional development programs within the building that are tied to the School Board goals and district initiatives; Helps the principal supervise guidance and student service personnel to enhance student education and development;PHYSICAL PLANT OPERATIONS
Helps the principal take responsibility for the physical plant in conjunction with the Director of Operations; Helps supervise the daily use of the school facilities for both academic/instructional activities and non-academic purposes; Helps the principal plan and supervise fire drills, lock downs, and other emergency preparedness programs; Asserts leadership in times of civil emergency in the school or on school grounds to ensure the safety of students and staff and until other civil authorities take charge; Supports principal ensuring that a system of inventory control is maintained; Conveys to principal any concerns about student transportation so that they can be shared with the Superintendent of Schools; Works with principal in coordinating use of building by outside organizations; Serves as a member of the safety committee .STUDENTS
Works with principal to ensure all new students are registered and welcomed into the building; Helps to ensure that student records are maintained in an accurate and up to date manner including attendance, assessment results, grades, course of studies, health records, and special education, ELL, 504 records; Executes school board policy, administrative regulations and state and federal records about student information; Helps ensure that all student services are provided to student on a fair and equitable manner; Responds to written or oral request for information; Support the use of community resources to supplement and enrich the delivery of education and instruction at the elementary school; Supports the principal ensuring there is a system of communications about student service issues; Helps manage student discipline system and supports building procedures and regulations relative to student management; Helps enforce School District Policy on bullying and sexual harassment and any student other harassment.PUBLIC RELATIONS
Supports the principal ensuring that there is a public relations program to inform public, parents,guardians about school programs and instructional practices; Helps act as a liaison between the school and community, helping to interpret activities,programs, practices and policy of the school and helping to encourage community participation at the school; Helps ensure that any written external communication is clear and readable; Helps respond to written or oral request; Cooperates with local authorities in matters relating to the school and/or student matters as defined by federal and state law, Littleton School District policy, procedure and regulation; Helps develop community resources to be used in school or instructional programs; Works with the principal develop and implement a system of communications relative to student growth and progress; Helps arrange special conferences or meetings relative to student matters. FINANCE Support the principal ensuring staff participation in the development and communications of the annual school district budget; Help the principal develop a school-based budget to be submitted to the Superintendent of Schools following prescribed guidelines; Help the principal to make sure all supplies, texts, materials and consumable items are ordered following the annual school district budget and financial procedures; Support the principal in initiating fiscal request for academic and instructional programs; Help maintaining a record and control of any local funds generated by student activities and/or fund raising.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
