Job Description

Clearway High School is seeking a compassionate, driven, and visionary leader to serve as Director of a small, highly individualized alternative high school serving students in grades 9-12. As part of the Nashua Adult Learning Center, Clearway High School is dedicated to transforming the lives of young people who have not found success in traditional settings. With a student body of approximately 70 students, Clearway offers a unique opportunity for a school leader to make a direct, meaningful impact every day—academically, socially, and emotionally. This is an ideal role for an educator who is passionate about equity, experienced with at-risk youth, and ready to lead a collaborative team in a flexible, student-centered environment. Position Overview The Director is responsible for the overall leadership, vision, and daily operations of Clearway High School. This includes overseeing academic programming, supporting staff development, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where all students can succeed. Full-time, year-round (Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM) Key Responsibilities Lead and continuously improve innovative, individualized academic programs Supervise, support, and evaluate faculty and staff to ensure high-quality instruction Maintain a school culture rooted in trust, accountability, and student support Oversee daily operations including scheduling, budgeting, and building operation Strengthen partnerships with families, districts, and community organizations Ensure adherence to New Hampshire Department of Education regulations and curriculum standards Develop and implement policies that support student growth and well-being while monitoring and adhering to disciplinary practices Provide regular communication and reports to parents, staff and school districts Support professional development and growth opportunities for staff and faculty Champion initiatives that enhance the alternative high school experience Qualifications Master's degree in education, educational leadership, special education, or related field NH DOE certification as Principal or Special Education Administrator Experience working with at-risk youth, preferably at the high school level Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational or human services setting
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
