Director of Student Services The Wakefield School District is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Student Services to lead and oversee all aspects of special education and student support services. This position ensures that all programs comply with federal and state regulations while promoting inclusive practices and equitable access to education for all students. The Director will provide leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. This position will plan and oversee the administration of special education services, which requires close work with the principal, coordinators, School Board, and school staff in meeting the needs of all children. This position shall develop and maintain a system of special education services, capably staffed to provide high-quality educational and supportive offerings. Develops and implements all necessary procedures to achieve these objectives within the financial allotments of local, state, and federal sources, and in financial allocations of local, state, and federal sources, in accordance with federal and New Hampshire statutes, and the policies of the School Board. EDUCATION andQUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (CAGS/Doctorate preferred)
- Valid New Hampshire certification as a Special Education Administrator or eligibility for certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in special education, including leadership or administrative experience
- In-depth knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and community partners
