Job Description

The Honors Coordinator is responsible for serving as the main student success point of contact for Rowan College at Burlington County's high achieving students, including
NJ STARS
students. The incumbent works closely with the various Enrollment Management & Student Success departments to support high achieving students throughout the student lifecycle. Serves as the primary advisor for cohort of students; advising students in areas of academic, career, life planning and personal skills. Connects students with appropriate academic and non-academic student services that promote their success, and maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of individual advising sessions. Monitors the retention, progression, and graduation of students within the assigned population, and offer proactive outreach for those students who are at academic or social risk. Serve as liaison with
NJ HESSA
on
NJ STARS
regulations. Collaborate with campus partners regarding honors program best practices. Oversee the implementation of college wide programs for high-achieving students Assist the Outreach & Admissions department with recruitment initiatives and programming for prospective students. Serve as a resource for the articulation of honors course(s) to four-year institutions. Perform other duties as assigned
OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY
The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
Experience Required:
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in admissions, advising, or related student services, preferably at the community college level. Demonstrated experience in public speaking and relationship building. Demonstrated success in working with high achieving students. Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements Exceptional customer service skill and a student focused demeanor. Extensive knowledge of the student experience at the community college. Skill in developing and managing outreach efforts to a variety of diverse audiences. Ability to use innovation and imagination to expand potential audiences and partnerships. Experience with program planning. Handles multiple tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail. Comfort and familiarity with collecting, analyzing, and reporting data. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment. Proficient knowledge and experience in working with Student Information Systems, preferably within the Ellucian/Colleague environment.
INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
