This is a full-time, year-round, in-person position. The Administrative Specialist will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and organizing programs and services within the Student Services Department. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational, computer and communication skills, strong attention to detail, is committed to student wellbeing, is warm, friendly, and easy to work with.
Responsibilities Include:
Government Liaison:
Work closely with Bergen County Special Services, NJ SLEDS, and Title Funds in order to comply with regulations in order to provide the strongest support possible to our students. This position involves leading and owning these pieces and ensuring their success. Oversee and manage all aspects of these services, including documentation, communication, scheduling, and reporting. Serve as the point of contact between the school and outside agencies, managing referrals and student needs within the special education framework.
Outside Provider Coordination:
Work closely with outside service providers and the students' parents to schedule services, maintain clear communication, and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
Internal Administrative Support:
Documentation:
Keep accurate, up-to-date records to share student needs with all teachers, ensuring that all documentation meets district requirements and protects confidentiality. Assist with the preparation of reports, student plans, and data collection related to the Student Services Department.
Scheduling:
Work with the educational team to create schedules for Inclusion Teachers. Provide support for the
Director of Student Services System Development and Maintenance:
Work closely with the Director of Student Services and relevant administrators to strengthen internal systems across departments Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Degree and Experience in Education (highly preferred) Bachelors Degree (highly preferred) 2-5 years of administrative experience (preferred) Proficiency with Google Suite (required) Experience with Bergen County documentation (preferred) Salary commensurate with education and experience.
