Function of Position:
This position would assist in keeping the desktops, laptops, and related accessories found throughout the college in top condition and keeping our records up to date. It would also allow the opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge by working alongside experienced IT technicians and specialists. This is a Federal Work Study position. Eligible applicants MUST have received prior approval from the Financial Aid Office. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Communications and Network Services (CNS) supports installing and maintaining desktop and laptop computers and related accessories in offices, classrooms, and labs for all MCC locations. Student aides in the department will help support that work by performing organizational and record-keeping tasks. Based on their availability, student aides will report to the CNS department and assist technicians with cleaning, moving, and sorting equipment, labeling equipment, and updating records. The student aides will work with a technician or specialist to answer questions and provide instructions.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must be Federal Work Study eligible (you can confirm your eligibility with a Financial Aid representative) Demonstrate financial need based on FAFSA results Must have an FWS award on their Financial Aid Offer letter Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen Be enrolled in a matriculated program (pursuing an eligible degree at MCC) Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) towards degree completion Must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours (i.e., registered for a course worth 3 or more credits) Work hours must not conflict with the student's academic schedule Not be in default on any federal student loans Must complete the Federal Work-Study (FWS) and Human Resources (HR) onboarding process within 30 days of receiving FWS approval; otherwise, the award will be automatically canceled.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
