Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Student Mentor to inspire and support a student throughout their academic journey. As a Student Mentor, you will serve as a positive role model, providing guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance to help the student succeed academically and personally. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a student's life while developing your leadership and educational skills in a vibrant university environment. Responsibilities Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for a student, promoting engagement and participation in academic activities Provide one-on-one mentorship to a student, offering advice on study strategies, time management, and personal development Assist student in navigating university resources, including academic advising, counseling services, and extracurricular opportunities Organize and facilitate peer-led workshops, study groups, or informational sessions to enhance student learning experiences Monitor student progress and well-being, identifying where there is a need for additional support or intervention Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop programs that promote student retention and success Maintain accurate records of mentorship activities, student interactions, and program participation Qualifications Experience in higher education teaching or Bachelor's Degree in Education or Special Education is highly desirable Prior university experience or familiarity with university systems enhances your ability to support students effectively Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and connect with student Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Passion for working with students and fostering their academic growth and personal development Ability to organize events, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality Join us in shaping the future of our student! Pay:
$30.00 - $34.00 per hour
