Job Description

Westchester Hills Golf Club, located in White Plains, NY , is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time 2nd Assistant Superintendent ! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon , you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying and fertilizer equipment Reads, understands, and keeps up-to-date material safety data sheets (MSDS) Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with governmental regulations Ensures the safety and direction of chemical/fertilizer handlers and/or helpers Maintains logs of applications and files related reports Responsible for hand spraying and maintaining proper mixing amounts and application techniques Keeps up-to-date knowledge of chemicals and fertilizers being applied Ensures proper calibration of all spraying and fertilizing equipment Supervises and assists maintenance staff with daily duties Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations Ensures associates obtain proper licenses needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations Addresses all real or perceived environmental concerns directly Assists with interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; and addressing complaints and resolving problems Manages department members, including but not limited to Environmental Technicians Assures that effective orientation and training are provided to each new associate and develops ongoing training programs Monitors business volume forecasts and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses Incorporates safe work practices in job performance Regular and reliable attendance Performs other duties as required Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree (AA) from a four
  • or two-year college or technical school; 3 to 4 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, or plant/soil science) Must have a valid driver's license Must have a valid pesticide application license Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions Regularly wears safety equipment that covers the entire body and may trap body heat and moisture Healthcare Benefits•Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage Retirement Benefits•401(k) with employer match (19 years of age and older) Time Off•Paid time off (PTO) and leaves of absence, in accordance with applicable law and eligibility criteria Eligibility for benefits and the specific terms, conditions, and offerings are governed by the applicable plan of documents and company policies, which may be amended at the Company's discretion.
