Student Ambassador Learning Objectives:
By the end of the training/program, Student Ambassadors will be able to: Customer Service & Communication Demonstrate professional and welcoming customer service when assisting students, staff, and visitors. Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse student populations. Apply active listening skills to identify student needs and provide appropriate support or referrals. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while handling student information and concerns. College Knowledge & Navigation Explain basic college processes including admissions, class registration, financial aid, and student support services. Navigate and demonstrate the use of My Tri-C Space and other college systems to assist students successfully. Provide accurate campus directions and information about college departments, offices, and resources. Identify appropriate campus resources and refer students to the correct departments when needed. Technical & Problem-Solving Skills Assist students with completing applications, registering for classes, and accessing online tools and services. Troubleshoot common student technology or account issues using college systems and resources. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support students efficiently and effectively. Leadership & Professional Development Demonstrate leadership skills by serving as a positive representative of the college. Develop confidence in public speaking, peer support, and student engagement. Work collaboratively with staff and fellow ambassadors to create a welcoming campus environment. Exhibit responsibility, dependability, and time-management skills in daily duties. Student Success & Engagement Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student success and belonging. Promote college events, services, and opportunities that enhance student engagement and retention. Recognize signs when students may need additional academic or personal support and make appropriate referrals. Have completed at least 6 credit hours at Tri-C; minimum GPA of 2.5; consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester; maintain satisfactory academic progress; adhere to College's confidentiality policy; successfully pass background/drug screening; Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; must demonstrate outstanding customer service, reliability, effective leadership skills, and strong communication skills; provide support to students during peak periods: assist students with My Tri-C Space; provide campus tours; assist with on and off campus events such as open houses, NSO, college fairs, high school visits; must participate in leadership programs and attend student success workshops; other duties as assigned.
