Assistant Principal & CRI- Secondary Summer School Reports to: Principal -

None Qualifications:

Hold a valid Oklahoma Principal Certification. Master's degree required. Previous classroom teaching experience required. Satisfy all district requirements with regards to physical health and citizenship. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goals:

To participate actively in planning, initiating, refining and evaluating the instructional, operational and guidance programs. To administer discipline as prescribed by the Student Handbook. To maintain accurate attendance and disciplinary records as prescribed by the state and the Jenks Board of Education. To implement Jenks Board of Education policies and regulations. To implement Oklahoma state policies concerning the Compulsory Education Attendance Law.

Performance Responsibilities:

Assist the principal in the overall administration of the school, including: Personnel matters and payroll documentation. Scheduling and student enrollment. Staff and student morale building activities. Ensure that teachers' classrooms and technology are functional as to support teachers' instructional methods. Facilitate the distribution and return of student code of conduct forms. Work with administrative assistant to manage student attendance. Manage student discipline and parent communication. Supervise, evaluate and monitor faculty according to state and Jenks School Board Policy as assigned by the principal. Maintain records, generate parent communication and administer discipline related to summer school students. Assist in the enforcement or implementation of central administrative directives and board policies. Maintain discipline and attendance throughout the student body, including daily referrals by certified and non-certified personnel and deal with special cases as assigned. Participate in the recruitment, interviewing and recommendations for hiring of certified and non-certified personnel. Assist with orientation program for all new teachers. Communicate with district employees regarding reports, forms, deadlines, etc. associated with computer software for attendance. Monitor the building during fire and disaster drills. Supervise students in halls during passing times, lunch periods and before/after school. Perform other duties as assigned.
