Job Description

Coaching positions require work prior to the actual OSAA season. All preseason work is included in the stipend that will be paid as outlined in the HR Coaches Agreement.
COMPENSATION
Stipend amount $3,221.03 per season per season, paid at the end of each OSAA season.
SUMMARY:
To encourage and support our KU Student-Athletes in achieving a high level of skill and athleticism, developing an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and promoting an increased level of self-esteem.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Athletic Assistant is responsible for minor care and health/prevention of athletic injuries. Work closely with coaches and athletes to observe signs and symptoms of injury or illness and suggest referral to a physician or clinic; Prepare student athletes for practices by taping and providing preventative measures and techniques; Be available to coaches and athletes before and after practices and games as needed; Attend games as assigned by the Athletic Director; Assist visiting teams with first aid as needed; Maintain and supervise the training supplies and facilities; Maintain appropriate records as required; Work with Athletic Director regarding supplies and budget; Other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Attends and supervises all assigned competitions; Oversees the safety conditions of the playing facilities; Reports directly to the Athletic Director regarding any concerns relating to KU Athletics. EDUCATION and
EXPERIENCE
Experience working with minor athletic injuries; Certifications in First Aid and CPR/AED.
