Full-Time, 12 months, Salaried, Exempt Summary Assist the Principal in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program to support students' academic achievement, personal and social development, in accordance with CCS policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law. To provide leadership in program development and improvement, as well as in professional staff development. Creates a climate of mutual respect and ongoing learning for both students and staff. Serve as a resource for instructional and systemic equity at the building level and in alignment with equity work across the K-12 continuum. The employee will be required to perform other duties requested by the supervisor and/or school administrator. Promotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning Respond respectfully and effectively to common inquiries, concerns, or complaints from any member of the educational community Continues to acquire professional knowledge in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or by conducting research Encourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and collaborates with instructional coaching staff and/or other teaching and learning specialists to assist teachers to modify instructional methods to fit students' needs, including students with special needs. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents Ensures the CCS Student Code of Conduct, the CCS Uniform Code, and the CCS Computer Usage Code are implemented with fidelity as aligned to the positive behavior and intervention support (PBIS) system, including conversations with students who do not follow guidelines and with parents, as needed. Promotes good citizenship through actions as a role model. Serve as an instructional resource for intervention and equity services to support the development and growth of equitable systems and practices within the school. Consistently demonstrates high moral, ethical, and professional standards of performance and personal integrity Maintains highest level of confidentiality pertaining to school and students' information, progress, and records. Abides by the CCS Employee Manual, CCS policies and procedures, and the PA Code of Professional Practice and Conduct for Educators Qualifications Master of Education Degree and PA Principal Certification. Minimum of three years of classroom experience and demonstrated competence as a teacher Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy Experience and demonstrated competence in a leadership role in a school setting Experience and demonstrated competence in restorative practices for student policy infractions in a classroom and/or school-wide setting Strong interpersonal skills, and effective verbal and written communication skills Training on equity, diversity, and culturally responsive pedagogy preferred, as well as a willingness to extend his or her professional development in these areas Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations Ability to analyze data, create reports, and write reports, formal correspondence, and other documents that conform to prescribed style and format Ability to solve practical problems, take initiative, and manage a variety of variables. Knowledge and demonstrative skills in the use of technology for teaching and learning. Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School Job Performance Requirements The mental and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
