POSITION GOAL
The IEP Facilitator plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the effective development, implementation, and compliance of special education services across the district. This position supports students, families, staff, and administration through collaboration, training, and oversight of the special education processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative for IEP, GIEP, and 504 meetings which occur both in District and in out of District placements. The focus is to ensure that all meetings are legally compliant, student-centered, and aligned with IDEA, Chapter 14, and district policies. The LEA provides oversight of decisions related to identification, placement, services, and resources; facilitates collaborative team discussions; ensures procedural safeguards are upheld. Develop and write intake IEPs for transfer students and ensure the provision of comparable services. Ensure all IEP documentation is accurate, complete, and within required timelines in compliance with federal and state laws, and district regulations. Monitor and manage special education caseloads by: Ensuring compliance with state regulations Assisting with case management assignments Collaborating with leadership to project staffing and scheduling needs Support progress monitoring practices by: Conducting assessments as needed Assisting teams in analyzing data to inform instructional and program decisions Provide ongoing professional development, training, and coaching to teachers, paraprofessionals, and service providers in: Special education compliance and procedures Development of data-driven IEPs and GIEPs Progress monitoring practices Inclusive instructional strategies and differentiation Behavior support and intervention strategies Manage paraprofessional schedules Mentor and support new special education staff and case managers. Support behavior intervention efforts by: Assisting with de-escalation and crisis response Conducting student observations and collecting data Supporting the development and alignment of FBAs and PBSPs Assisting with aide/paraprofessional needs analyses Ensure compliance with restraint reporting requirements and coordinate submission through the RISC system. Coordinate Extended School Year (ESY) services, including planning, staffing, transportation, and implementation. Coordinate IEP development and meeting facilitation, including summer planning and student transitions across grade levels and buildings. Analyze staffing, transportation, and related service needs; provide recommendations and updates to administration. Support the hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of paraprofessionals in collaboration with administrators and building teams. Collaborate with administrators, MTSS teams, instructional coaches, and related service providers to ensure cohesive and effective student programming and inclusive practices. Respond to parent and staff inquiries regarding special education processes, timelines, and services in a timely and professional manner. Support and lead district-wide initiatives related to special education, inclusion, curriculum, and student transitions. Participate in building-level and district special education leadership meetings to promote alignment, compliance, and continuous program improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary. Bachelor's Degree. Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification Required Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents. Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs; to plan and implement lessons based on curriculum objectives and the needs and abilities of students. Well-organized with good time management skills. Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Submission of PA School Personnel Health form. Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances. • This position description does not express or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the incumbent in this position. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
190 days, 7 hours 30 minutes per day. Salary and benefits according to the negotiated agreement between the Board of School Directors and the Roberts Education Association. Bachelor's Degree starting $60,250; Master's Degree starting $65,900; Final salary determined by education and experience.
