Immediately Job Description The Director of Student Services will provide leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of special programs that include Special Education, Gifted, English as a Second language (ESL), Extended School Year (ESY) Drop Out Prevention/At Risk and Alternative Education, Section 504, Homeschool/In-home Schooling, Health Services, Social Work Services/Homeless. The successful candidate will also provide continual special program evaluation and assessment of instructional practices and coordination within all these special program areas and general education programs.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years special education classroom experience.
  • Valid K-12 Principal Certification or Special Education Supervisor Certification.
  • Preferred administration experience.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in developing and providing effective professional development.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently without constant direct supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills evidencing the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of constituents with a focus on solving conflict without blame and managing difficult or emotional parent/community situations judiciously.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders by evidencing cooperation, congeniality, and a dedication to quality service.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Strong understanding, appreciation of, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficient with various business technologies, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and a proven ability to learn and effectively utilize position-specific technologies.
