DUTIES:

Essential duties for this position include but are not limited to: Provide academic advising to prospective, new, and continuing students regarding degree requirements, course selection, and academic planning Engage in regular communication with students and faculty to support enrollment and retention Help students resolve academic issues and navigate University policies and procedures Utilize student information systems such as Banner, OrediggerWeb, and EAB Navigate360 to facilitate and track student meetings Collaborate and coordinate with faculty and staff to support student success Provide referrals to appropriate campus resources Interpret and apply academic policies, including catalog requirements and math/writing placement procedures Assist with new student orientation sessions and information sessions in Freshman Seminar classes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Familiarity with higher education structures, policies, and student development principles Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a part of a team Ability to remain calm and professional in a variety of situations Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency in standard computer applications with the ability to learn new systems quickly

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, including assistantships, internships, or related practical experience Related experiences in a college or university setting Knowledge of university-level advising policies and procedures Ability to demonstrate genuine empathy and care for students, their challenges and their successes Fluency with software such as Banner, Oredigger Web, DegreeWorks, Navigate, and Canvas For full consideration application materials must be complete.
