Job Description
Student Support Coordinator Southeast Online and Graduate Services Full-Time The office of Southeast Online and Graduate Services at Southeast Missouri State University is committed to student success. The Student Support Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Online and Graduate Student Services. This position plays a critical role in the academic success of online and graduate students at Southeast. We seek a dynamic, ethical, motivated professional with excellent customer service skills, a passion for learning, and a desire to help online students achieve their academic goals. This position is not remote. During the training period, the schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Following successful completion of training, the schedule will transition to Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Primary Responsibilities:
This position supports our online learners, graduate (domestic) students, credit for prior learning, and the online student services team. Provides concierge-level services to all online and graduate (domestic) students Directly manages the online and graduate (domestic) student onboarding process from admission to advising, including orientation, workflows, and communications. Assists with outreach initiatives such as phone banks, bulk e-mail, and snail mail messaging Supports students with credit for prior learning inquiries and approvals Serves as a backup to online student support team members Develops and manages data and reporting Advise Online Elementary Education majors Serves as a liaison with the division of economic and workforce development to ensure online and graduate students have access to lifelong learning opportunities Manages the process of awarding credit for professional development, continuing education, and other learning engagements through RPDC, partner schools, or other organizations. Utilizes technology to create efficient and effective services Other duties as assigned Bachelor's degree. A degree majoring in Elementary, Middle, or Secondary Education is a plus. Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong technical proficiency with a demonstrated ability to work across multiple software platforms simultaneously. Experience with electronic reports and making data-informed decisions. Experience prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. Ability to diffuse emotional or tense situations and offer viable solutions. Knowledge of academic advising, counseling or closely related area through work experience or an educational setting.
