Jul 29, 2026 Job Description Job Title ARD Facilitator, Special Education Reports To Special Education Director Pay Grade CP03 Workdays 197 Minimum Salary $57,130 Type of Assignment Exempt Mid-Point Salary $69,935 Contract Status Chapter 21 Funding This position is locally funded. Consideration for directly related experience supported by an official service record or experience affidavit. Annualized pay may be pro-rated based on actual start date. Position Summary The ARD Facilitator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education. This role serves as a liaison between school staff, families, and service providers to promote effective communication, collaboration, and planning for students with disabilities. The ARD Facilitator ensures that Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are developed, implemented, and reviewed in a timely and appropriate manner, and that all documentation meets legal and procedural requirements. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in special education, psychology, social work or related field from an accredited college or university. Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments. Minimum of (3) three years of Special Education teaching experience. Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the candidate. Preferred Qualifications None Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records Ability to meet established deadlines Knowledge of federal and state laws regulating special education. Knowledge of PLAAFPs, annual goal writing, AU supplements, FBA/BIP, Transition Supplement, and other ARD supplements Knowledge of Special Education timelines and law as it relates to the ARD process Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates initiative and good judgment in problem solving and decision-making. Follows district policies, rules and regulations. Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule campus ARD/IEP meetings. Verify the invitation to the meeting to parents was sent within legal time frames. Verify notification of other required personnel of ARD/IEP meeting. Support completion of ARD paperwork. Coordinate with campus appraisal staff and all related service personnel as necessary. Act as the administrator for the ARD/IEP meeting upon approval by superintendent. Adhere to the ARD agenda at all times. Turn in all ARD paperwork no later than 5 days after the ARD/IEP meeting is held. Strictly monitor ARD timelines. Coordinate sharing of Special Education student information and needs between campuses. Follow all local Special Education policy guidelines. (Dual Enrollment, Focus, Life skills, etc.) Attend at least one legal conference a year, either district sponsored or approved by the Special Education office. Facilitate the smooth transition of students from campus to campus when appropriate. At secondary level, this will require working closely with the district transition specialist. Promote positive interactions with campus staff. Use mediation skills to facilitate meaningful partnerships with families. Advise the Director, Assistant Director, and Campus administration of any issues that occur during ARD meetings Seek opportunities for professional development through conferences, professional meetings, and coursework, as applicable. Work collaboratively with the Department to develop a common vision of excellence and to ensure attainment of team, department, and district goals. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintains confidentiality of the position.
