Description/Notes:
Primary Purpose:
The Assistant Superintendent is the senior administrative officer of the District in the absence of the Superintendent. The assistant superintendent is granted by the Superintendent primary authority among District staff to substantially and effectively support the Superintendent's role of ensuring high levels of collaboration and performance across all district functions, schools, and departments. The assistant superintendent will evaluate and provide leadership for the overall instructional program of the district. Ensure that the development and delivery of curriculum and the instructional program is effective and efficient, incorporates district goals, and supports student achievement.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Knowledge of a variety of effective instructional strategies
  • Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
  • Ability to manage budget and personnel
  • Ability to coordinate district functions
  • Ability to implement policy and procedures
  • Ability to interpret data to improve the oues of the teaching
  • learning process
  • Ability to formulate action plans designed to strengthen instructional programs
  • Strongmunication, organizational, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Awareness of the latest trends in technology related educational products
  • Knowledge of the state textbook procurement/distribution process
  • Knowledge of state assessments
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
  • Master's degree in education administration
  • Superintendent Certification
  • Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (TTESS) certification
  • Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (TPESS) certification
Experience:
  • Three years of experience as a classroom teacher
  • Three years of experience in instructional leadership roles
Salary Range:
Based on CISD's Salary Schedule Benefits include $386.00 towards Health Insurance and a $10,000.00 Life Insurance Policy
