Primary Purpose:
Provide office and administrative support for the department. Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification): High school diploma or GED; three years of related experience.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Create and maintain a variety of documents, records, files, manuals, and other materials, often confidential in nature; perform special projects when requested. 2. Receive incoming phone calls and visitors and provide outstanding customer service. Determine nature of call or visit, direct to the appropriate person, take messages or answer questions to meet the needs/concerns of the individual(s). 3. Perform skilled word processing, data entry, and typing; answer telephone and assist visitors; provide customer service to all district stakeholders. 4. Schedule, coordinate preparation of materials, and assist with department events and meetings. 5. Maintain a variety of records; collect information for reports; perform general bookkeeping. 6. Provide administrative and purchasing support to the department. 7. Follow Educator Code of Conduct and all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations. 8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of all applicable federal, state, and local laws, guidelines and procedures. Knowledge of administrative support and file management techniques. Knowledge of basic accounting principles, office management, and meeting/event coordination. Skill in communicating effectively with others. Skill in working with various types of equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, fax machines, calculators, printers. Skill in working with computer applications and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Skill in working in collaborative team-based environments. Skill in communicating effectively with others.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands): Prolonged use of computer; repetitive hand motions; maintain emotional control under stress; must be able to lift and/or carry at least 30lbs.
