Position Details Position Information Posting Number AS521P Position Title Office Support Specialist Contract Length N/A Class Summary Incumbent is responsible for providing administrative and office support for the Student Success Center. Candidates Eligible to Apply Internal/External Position Type Non-Exempt Staff Employment Status Full Time Position Funding Type Regular Posting Detail Information Minimum Education/Training/Experience Associates degree and 2 years of relevant work experience. Preferred Education/Training/Experience Bachelors degree and experience working in a community college setting Minimum Knowledge & Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software programs Ability to reconcile and track multiple budgets Ability to assist and guide students in effectively using computer systems and technology resources. Strong written and oral communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a high level of attention to detail. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships. Experience with working a diverse student populations. Preferred Knowledge & Skills Experience with Maxient, Ellucian Colleague and Navigate360. Experience working in Higher Education. Experience maintaining accurate records, documentation, and data entry with a high level of accuracy. Familiarity with FERPA regulations and handling confidential student information. Experience supporting office operations, scheduling, and coordination of appointments and events. Licensing/Certification Requirements none Job Duties Serve as the front line to the Student Success Center by providing coverage at the front counter, answering phone calls, and triaging student inquiries Provide overall office support to the Student Success Center Conduct and track outreach via email, phone calls, and text messages to prospective and current students Assist with events and activities hosted by the Student Success Center Direct and supervise student workers Assist with generating accommodation letters as needed for accessibility services Assist students in scheduling appointments and with class schedules utilizing the Navigate system Assist advisors with outreach conducted via phone or email Maintain the department email, responding to inquiries in a timely fashion Physical Requirements Frequent walking and standing.

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
