Pay Scale:
Principal/Assistant Principal - 4
Primary Purpose:
Champion the district's vision of "Achieving Excellence for All" on campus and in the community. Direct and manage instructional programs and supervise operations and personnel at campus level. Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service. Oversee compliance with district policies, success of instructional programs and operation of all campus activities.
Qualification Guidelines:
Education/Certifications:
Master's degree in educational administration or related field Valid Texas Standard Principal Certificate or other appropriate SBEC certificate Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) certified (or willing to obtain)
Experience:
Five years' experience as a classroom teacher or instructional leader
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and presumes positive intent in all interactions Ability to lead through collaboration, delegate effectively, and foster shared ownership Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to coordinate campus functions and support operations Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills If assigned to a Bilingual or Dual-Language Campus, ability to clearly communicate (verbal and written) in both
English and Spanish Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff assigned to campus including but not limited to: assistant principal(s), teachers(s), counselor(s), librarians(s), instructional aides, clerical support staff, and custodians.
