AND PURPOSE
The Principal leads the school in delivering high-quality instruction in alignment with the Superintendent's instructional vision and ensure strong student outcomes across all classrooms. At CISD, this role is responsible for building a culture of excellence, supporting teacher development, and implementing systems that promote academic achievement, student well-being, and continuous school improvement. The Principal ensures that instructional practices, staff collaboration, and school operations align to support every student's success and long-term readiness. Principals are responsible for guiding improvement in teaching practice, supporting teachers through coaching and professional learning, and ensuring consistent expectations for instruction across classrooms. Principals will model strong instructional leadership by directly engaging in improving instruction by being in classrooms daily, consistently coaching teachers, providing real-time and bite-sized feedback, reinforcing clear expectations, and monitoring classroom practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Measurement and Evaluation, or related field preferred. Texas principal or administrator certification preferred.

Ability to work effectively with diverse students, families, staff, and community partners Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills Ability to analyze student achievement data and use technology tools to support instructional improvement and campus decision-making Commitment to student success, staff development, and equitable access to high-quality instruction Ability to coach teacher to improve the quality of instruction and teacher performance Strong knowledge of effective school leadership practices, including instructional leadership, school improvement planning, staff development, and student achievement systems Bilingual skills preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
I.
INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities to guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals Lead the implementation of a rigorous instructional program aligned to state standards and district curriculum. Monitor the quality of instruction through classroom observations, walkthroughs, and coaching systems; ensure implementation of district instructional frameworks. Analyze student achievement data to guide instructional improvement efforts. Develop and implement a campus improvement plan aligned with district priorities.
II. STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION
Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-quality instructional staff Conduct teacher evaluations and support professional growth through coaching and feedback. Facilitate professional learning communities and staff development activities. Ensure there is a clear connection between teacher performance expectations and instructional outcomes.
III. SCHOOL CULTURE AND CLIMATE
Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment. Implement systems that support student engagement, behavior expectations, and conditions for learning. Promote collaboration among teachers, staff, students, and families.
IV. OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP
Oversee school operations including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation. Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations. Monitor attendance, discipline, and other operational systems.
V. FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Build partnerships with families and community organizations Communicate school goals, progress, and expectations with stakeholders Supervisory Responsibilities

Attendance:
Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.

Follows adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board priorities Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest traditions of public education and in support of the District's Mission Statement. Performs other duties as assigned.
