Job Description

At Utah Valley University, this role plays a vital part in creating a welcoming, supportive experience for international students as they navigate both campus life and complex immigration requirements. Serving as a primary point of contact, the position combines strong interpersonal communication with administrative expertise—answering questions, guiding students through processes, and coordinating closely with campus partners like the International Services Council. It offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students from around the world feel informed, supported, and connected to UVU's resources and community. By managing confidential records, maintaining precise data systems, and supporting day-to-day office operations, the role ensures the office runs smoothly and efficiently. Assisting walk-in students with questions regarding their immigration requirements and procedures. Helping the students to make appointments with the advisors and the director. Assisting the student with information about UVU procedures. Assist students in the ISC with vouchers, activities, appointments, etc. Filing documents containing confidential information. These folders need to be maintained in a locked room and updated. Data Entry. Keep track of the new students and update information in TEAMS. Office organization and cleaning. Helping to keep track of supplies and keep the working area clean. Keep up to date with departments, resources, activities, etc. Working with the International Services Council. Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree plus 2 years of experience; OR a bachelor's degree; OR any combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to communicate in a language other than English (multilingual preferred). Familiarity with F-1 visa regulations, policies, and student compliance processes. Knowledge Knowledge of data entry procedures, database systems, and record management practices. Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, and database systems) to manage and track information. Skills Skilled in accurately entering, verifying, and maintaining large volumes of data with strong attention to detail. Skilled in building positive relationships and supporting student needs. Effective in maintaining orderly filing systems, scheduling tasks, and streamlining processes to improve efficiency. Abilities Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully. Ability to demonstrate cultural competency, adaptability, and empathy when assisting students.
