Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:
The student will answer questions from students, instructors and staff. The student will gain proficiency in aiding ESL students, instructors and staff. The student will effectively deal with issues that helps the student with productivity and overall job satisfaction. The student will actively seek departmental and institutional knowledge through individualized training. The student will demonstrate increased independence with handling daily inquiries from ESL students, instructors and staff. The student will learn how to work with a team of instructors and staff on various department projects and assignments. The student will effectively communicate verbal and written information when working with ESL instructors, students and staff in collaborative situations. The student will communicate through discussions and emails with ESL instructors, students and staff when working on group projects. The student will be provided with the fundamentals required for an office setting, such as serving students (similar to servicing customers), and learning organizational, communication, and marketing skills. The student will increase ability to work independently in the ESL computer lab, assisting ESL students, instructors and staff. By working with experienced instructors and staff, the student will have daily opportunities to work on various systems, with opportunities to apply computer and communication skills. The student will demonstrate proficiency in computer and communications skills through increased level of understanding and ability to deal with computer lab issues.
