The Hub:
Federal Way Higher Education Center is a small branch campus of Highline College, located in the heart of Federal Way. As an evening, hourly support person at The Hub, this position is the main point of contact with the public, current students, and faculty. They will serve a vital role in creating an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, providing clear communication and support to students as they inquire about Highline, directing them to appropriate resources, setting up appointments with The Hub's Entry Support Specialist, and providing minor technical support to students and faculty. This position requires a commitment to student service, so the person in this role must be comfortable and effective working in a multicultural, multi-ethnic, multilingual environment and be dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to a wide range of perspective students. In addition to student service, this role also supports a variety of administrative tasks and partners with Public Safety to ensure a safe and secure environment for our evening students.
Work hours:
Wed-Thu, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (on-site) This is a temporary hourly position that is limited to 12 months or 1050 hours. Reporting to Director, Federal Way Higher Education Center, the Hourly, Office Assistant III will: Answer general inquiries at The Hub and direct students to appropriate resources/departments on main campus; Help ESOL/evening Hub students with password/account access issues and WIFI connectivity; Support ESOL/evening instructors with minor technical support; Lock up/secure The Hub and complete closing tasks; Lock all interior doors; Close blinds; Re-stock pantry stations; Shut off digital signage; Ensure exterior doors are locked, and check again. Follow established safety procedures at The Hub and partner with Public Safety Officer on-site to ensure student/faculty/staff safety; Support The Hub's social media efforts; Repost partner content; Schedule posts based on social media calendar; Reply to social media comments and DMs. Monitor and restock supplies and marketing materials; Help students with filling out the Highline application; Make appointments for students with the Entry and Support Specialist.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: High school graduation or equivalent. Applicants considered for this position will be required to disclose if they are the subject of any substantiated findings or current investigations related to sexual misconduct at their current employment and past employment. Disclosure is required under Washington state law.
