Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be a member of the department at the school and must hold a West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate endorsed for a specialization representative of the department.
In addition to abiding by established laws, policies, rules and regulations, the Department Head shall have the following responsibilities and duties:
Serve as the primary liaison between the principal and the department faculty.
Serve as the chief spokesperson for the department.
Maintain appropriate records, files, inventories, equipment and serial number lists.
Compile and submit required reports.
Maintain book inventories.
Submit department orders for equipment and supplies.
Distribute department supplies.
Request repairs for department facilities and equipment.
Conduct departmental and/or team meetings.
Provide appropriate assistance to new teachers in the department.
